Announcement
Hey folks, long time again on updates! Anyhoo I’m still around and shootin and so forth, in fact I’ve got some shots up on JPG mag. If you haven’t checked JPG mag out yet, then definitely head on over there. They have some fantastic photographers and are quickly building a great community. Oh! and I’ve got a Swoon shot entered into the “Entropy” category.
Outside Gallery Updated
I’ve also updated the Swoon gallery with the infamous Rivington St wall, which is constantly in flux.
Big Up 2 Swoon
Hearty congratz to Swoon, as she spoke at MOMA on March 2. Rock On.
Update Long Overdue
Sorry for the lack of posts here lately folks, things have radically changed business/career wise for me the last few months, more on that later. As for the site, some of you may have noticed some craziness going on the last couple of weeks. I had decided to end my year of hosting with mediatemple, the main reason was that I had signed up for the 3 martini lunch over at textdrive for another site that I’m working on. With this addition of textdrive I now was using 3 hosting companies and felt that I needed to condense a bit.
Move or Not to Move
One other big reason that I was intending on leaving mediatemple was the fact of needing to pay for spam protection. So armed with that and trying to condense hosts, I decided to migrate cfa.com over to my dreamhost account (my second host). Lo and behold once I got over to dreamhost I received an email from mediatemple offering me complimentary spam protection if I chose to renew my contract with them. I thought this was a great thing for them to offer me (even though I still think it should be included in the plan). When you choose to discontinue your service with mediatemple they pass on your reason(s) for leaving to upper management. I told them I was extremely impressed with their server speeds and hosting environment but the straw that broke the camels back was the spam protection.
Full Rewind
Armed with this offer, I thought about it and decided to come back to mediatemple, take advantage of their grid server lite, now armed with spam protection. I’ll probably move another site of mine over to my textdrive account and then phase out my dreamhost account. Dreamhost is a great playground though, alot of ups and downs in server speeds but all in all I’ve been happy with them. So, cfa.com is back and if you notice anything wonky or borked from the move let me know.
Big Thanks to mediatemple
For those of you who were trying to find my Swoon Outside shots and found a blank screen, I apologize. I’ve recently been hit with a TON of spam comments on two of my galleries. The Swoon Outside one had so many that it appears that it kept the gallery from displaying. I took all of the comment spam records out of the database and the gallery is back up again.
I installed the bad behavior beta plugin for pixelpost but it didn’t have any effect on the spam, so until I get a working solution commenting on the galleries will be off.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
