Well, apple released the much anticipated ipodphoto today. Gotta say a big disappointment from my point of view. Why? For years now I have been needing a way to get my digital photos onto my ipod. On photo shoots Ive always had to carry along my tibook to dump my shots onto. And doing a ton of walking as one tends to do here in new york city and its burroughs, can take a toll on your back and shoulders after 8-10 hours on the beat. There have been various solutions for this. The SmartDisk-FlashTrax has been the most popular, too bad they haven’t made a firewire version yet. The only ipod solution I’ve seen is this bulky belkin. Despite its being bulky it won’t work with my generation 2 ipod touch wheel, as I don’t have a dock connector. So it was with this disgruntlement that I was anticipating an apple solution. Surely my favorite company would see my need and come up with something…. alas…..all to no avail as of yet.
Apple makes another hobbyist move and goes for photo sharing, rather than giving capabilities to the product to be used as a professional tool. And I can smell an ipodphoto “pro” version coming… Let me end this with a positive note, the color monitor is cool….

The biggest letdown to me is that they introduced it so short after the regular 4G. That’s just ludicrous.
