Well the cats out of the bag. Yahoo has bought flickr. As hard as I try I just can’t seem to find anything positive about this, with the exception of the flickr team getting paid for all their hard work. There has been quite a number of responses to this over at the flickr groups both positive and negative. I am happy to see the positive responses and would love to join in, but at this stage my concern is that all of the work that the team has put in to make flickr the awesome community that it is will be compromised. The last thing flickr.com needs is the intervention of yahoo sillyness. The flickr pep talk has stressed primarily the integration of flickr into yahoo’s site, in various areas where they can be of help. Too bad they just didnt do some consulting and programming for yahoo and left it at that… Hopefully I’m wrong and it will continue to be one of the strongest communities on the net.

75 Borkfree™ 2
Ah nice to be back, I decided to make a few changes last nite structure wise. Naturally, the quick fix became a not so quick fix and with double the style sheets, I had some work ahead of me.
I’ve added a few things to hopefully bring a bit more usability to the plate, things frankly I’ve wanted to do for quite a while but haven’t set aside the time. The header is now clickable to return you home, and the home page is now the feature area, this was nice because it free’d up alot of space on the news page, and brought the content up. It also keeps it on its own page and out of the single post views on the news page. I’ve also dropped google adsense, for now at least. Having the option to make a few bucks was nice, but in light of how google pays out and the amount of clicks I was getting, it just didn’t warrant altering my design for it, at least right now.
I’ve also added some bottom navigation to the news page so you can access previous and next posts without having to select the archives.
So, let me know if you encounter any bits o’ bork that I haven’t caught since getting back up again..
